Here's one you shouldn't miss.  Three day event up on lake texoma.    Vincent and Janet can vouch for the party.

I believe there will be at least five or six Galveston bay vipers attending

This is a fun regatta, proceeds go to a good cause. Historically a 3-day event the two dominate sport-boat fleets in Texas are joining forces to spice things up a little, and increase participation.

From the website...

SPORTBOAT SAILORS UNITE IN VERSATILE NEW REGATTA FORMAT
Denison, TX (March 27, 2011) ? To accommodate Melges 24 and Viper 640 teams who might not be able to commit to a 3-day regatta format (and per their request), the traditional Lakefest 3-day regatta will be split into separate events for these two classes: a one-day series on Friday, April 15th, followed by a 2-day series Saturday and Sunday (April 16-17). Boats registering for either class may participate in either, or both, events.

On Friday, the combined Melges 24 / Viper 640 fleet will race by handicap (Melges rated at PHRF 94, Vipers rated at PHRF 102) in a friendly competition between fellow sportboat enthusiasts. Competition on the water is sure to be fierce, but probably not as fierce as what these sailors throw down at Saturday night's Shipwrecked Ball ? where the Melges and Viper sailors will again combine forces to win the party! Awards for the combined Melges/Viper fleet regatta will be presented at the Sailor's Reception Friday evening.

On Saturday and Sunday, the Melges 24s and Viper 640s will be split into their respective One Design classes to compete (as usual) for the Lakefest championship in their One Design class.

We hope the more flexible format will provide more Melges 24 and Viper 640 teams the opportunity to participate in Lakefest 2011.
