Galveston Bay Area Racing / Re: Harvest Moon cancelled?
October 21, 2015, 10:20:01 PM
Can't ever remember them to cancel a HMR in the last 20 years, I guess they see more than I do, and its better to play it safe than to wish we had, I am sure the death of racers earlier this year in a day race( Dauphin Island Regatta ) plays into this decision. I am sure when it is pouring down rain and we are seating at home nice and dry having a favor drink and watch something good on TV (Maybe the Perfect Storm or Titanic) we will say, good choice! Just my thoughts!

If the "go fast boats" want to start an hour later I am ok with that, without the extra hour it would of been close to the DNF for us on FireWater with the light wind at the start. Here is another idea, go back to the later time and use Icicle course for the slower boats and the new course for the "go fast boats", the race losses some of its fun if half the fleet is DNF.

I like early, more time to be at the party before I make the 75 mile drive back to Katy Tx.

Not racing, but believe Icicle course would be easy to follow, and easily seen from a distant, and little work to be done by the race committee .  Although moveable marks don?t hurt the boat if you hit them, and the course can be easily shorten if the wind goes light. Just my thoughts, hope they are helpfully, good luck and safe sailing to all, but GO FIREWATER!  Wish I could be there, Terry Y.

Did any one hear why it went on the jettys in the first place, equipment malfunction or just human error. Weather was blowing really hard, we were coming back thru the ditch at the sametime and saw around 27 knots of wind and sometimes up to 38 knot, it had to be ruff out there.

Very cool, I guess the battery?s ran out before we(FireWater) crossed. I guess we need to get faster or the drone needs to get a bigger battery. Terry Y

I think the chicken has laid some bad eggs(Chicken may have the flu), I almost looks like we start same time the party starts. O well, I happy for the Club Class leader?s they all have sailed well and all have good captains, but I have to put my money on Stellar of Course,  Go ?Captain Ron?.
Kevin don?t know if it is possible, but can you post the finish times of the Club Class, I know you already you have a lot on your plate, but just asking. Just want to say thanks Kevin and all the rest of the committee for all their time and hard work on another great 2014 Icicle series.
